Testing the first version of the video analysis Max patch running on a recycled Power Macintosh 7600. The Mac was acquired without the cover just the outrigger keyboard and AV ports card.

The motherboard, drive and power supply now removed from the outrigger the AV card temporarily removed here. The USB and SCSI card wont be used.

The first test of the Max standalone that will run on the computer. It includes the use of nato.0+55+3d externals to interface with the AV card and perform the image analysis.

Testing an updated version of the standalone now with keyscreening capability. The motherboard, AV card, power supply, and drive are built into a wooden armature (bottom left of the image).

A screen capture of the patch showing the interactive compositing effect of live video and motion graphic animations. Looks like a scary Jon Testcard F no?

The removal of the back access panel exposes the camber that houses the Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps and the transformer for the Spy Camera and PDA. It was the intension to fit the computer hardware in the remaining space but the power transformer was too large and it was decided to sit the somewhat rustic looking armature that was built to support the Mac 7600 components on top of chamber’s reveal.
Doing this compromised the original design and it would have been better to use smaller laptop hardware, or try to do it in some other way but it was important to be in keeping with using recycled appropriated, found and modified parts, with exception of the flight case.

The finished armature supporting the components is complete with the AV card connected to the Spy Cam. The other socket on the power supply that would normally be used to power an external monitor feeds the camera, lights, and PDA. It will finally be covered with an enclosure made from the same materials as the flight case with a small access panel.
