Draw: LCD Drawings 2002

These thumbnails are a selection of computer generated images made by experimenting with the Lcd object in MaxMSP. I made a series of mini applications with a simple graphical and numerical interface that created square shaped designs of 400 x 400 pixels. It was possible to save them in the Pict format or send directly to an available printer.

Later on in that year i attempted to do the same thing with the Nato.0+55+3d software which made it possible to save the drawings as they were created as an animated Quicktime movie.

In 2004 i was invited to give a talk and assist in an art workshop that was given to a class of year 9 school kids at the Oaklands School, Bethnal Green in East London. The theme of the lesson was abstract expressionism, and the head of art asked me to present an example how sounds could accompany image making. I connected a sound synthesis abstraction i already had to a version of the drawing software, and made it interactive by allowing the kids to draw on a graphics tablet to conduct their audio visual experience as they felt.

The moving image and audio stuff below was captured by using the Oaklands School, and the Seeing & Doing Patch.
